Heritage draws from a collection of family photographs from 1982 and questions the notion of world heritage. My grandmother felt it was important for her six children to see their roots and brought them to Puerto Rico in pairs. Old San Juan was built as a military fortress in the 16th century and designated a UNESCO World heritage site in 1983. Today it is one of the best preserved colonial cities of the new world.
